GUIDELINES FOR WRITING MANUSCRIPTS OF JOURNAL OF BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

              Guidelines for manuscript authors can be spelled out as follows.

  1. Manuscripts are written in Indonesian or English with a row density of 1.5 spaces, Times New Roman font 12, A4 paper size, two-column format, and last margin custom setting (top 2.54 cm; left 2.8 cm; bottom 2.54 cm; righ 2.54cm).
  2. The length of a scientific manuscript should range from 6000 to 9000 words or approximately 10-15 pages, including accompanying drawings, graphs or tables (if any).
  3. Terms in foreign languages or regional languages in text are written in italics (italics).).
  4. Literature review is not included as part of the structure of the article. Thus the citation of libraries that are considered important can be combined in the introduction chapter (introduction) or in the discussion. The citation of the library in the discussion as necessary and preferably is the discussion of the results of the analysis found itself.
  5. The loaded manuscript will be redacted by the editor without changing its contents.
  6. Unloaded manuscripts will be sent back to the author with written notice from the editor.

 

Structure of Scientific Articles

In general, the structure of scientific articles of field research results and scientific articles of conceptual research are relatively the same. The structure of the scientific article consists of 10 main parts, namely: (l) the title; (2) line of ownership; (3) abstract; (4) keywords; (5) introduction; (6) methods; (7) results and discussions; (8) conclusions; (9) Thank you and (10) bibliography. The structure of the scientific article of conceptual research is divided into 9 main parts, namely: (1) title; (2) line of ownership; (3) abstract; (4) keywords; (5) introduction; (6) discussion; (7) conclusions; (8) Thank you and (9) bibliography. Each section is given the following explanation.

  1. Heading
    • The title should be concise and informative, not multi-interpretive, and appropriate to the issues written. The title should not be more than 12 (twelve) words, excluding forward words and foreword.
    • The title contains keywords from the topic being researched for easy browsing of the library.
    • Times New Roman 14 typeface, with a one-space row distance, with capital letters bolded.
    • The title in Indonesian or English, according to the language used in the manuscript.
    • Avoid using abbreviations, formulas and references.

 

  1. Ownership line (authorship line))
    • The author's institutional affiliation follows the institution of the author concerned.
    • The names of authors should only be the ones who actually participate in the planning, implementation, analysis of results, discussion, and writing of reports.
    • Academic/functional department or scholarship degree does not need to be listed.
    • The name of the institution is listed in full, written under the author's name along with an email for correspondence purposes.
    • If the author is more than one person and comes from a different institution, then all the names of the institution are listed by giving a superscript, starting from the number 1 (one) on the back of the author's name in sequence.
    • The correspondence author's name is asterisk (*).
  2. Abstract
    • Abstracts are written concisely and factually, covering research objectives, research methods, results and conclusions.
    • Abstracts are written in 1 (one) paragraph and spaced 1 (one), using Indonesian or English, abstract lengths range from 150 – 200 words.
    • Avoid referring and using unusual abbreviations.
  3. Keywords
    • Keywords consist of 3 to 5 words and/or groups of words.
    • Written in alphabetical order.
    • Between keywords are separated by semicolons (;).
    • Keywords are written in capital letters at the beginning of each word, and boldly italics.

Example: "Keywords: Motivation; Customer Satisfaction; Consumer Behavior"

  • Avoid many connecting words (and, with, that and others).
  1. Introduction
    • Avoid sub-subs in the introduction.
    • The introduction should contain the background of the problem, the problem and the purpose of the research.
    • The percentage of the length of the introductory page is between 15-20% of the overall length of a manuscript.
    • References are indicated by writing the author's surname/last name and year of publication, without a page number. The theoretical foundation is displayed in complete, concise sentences, and is completely relevant to the purpose of writing scientific articles.
  2. Research Methods
    • Briefly inform the materials and methods used in the research, including the subjects/ materials studied, the tools used, the experimental design or design used, sampling techniques, variables to be measured, data retrieval techniques, analysis and statistical models used.
    • Avoid overwriting statistical formulas.
    • If you use a method that is already widely known, just mention the name of the method. If needed, mention the reference source used as a reference.
    • For qualitative research, research methods can adjust.

 

  1. Results and Discussions
    • The format of research and discussion results is not separated, considering the number of pages available to authors is limited.
    • Research results can be presented with the support of tables, graphs or images as needed, to clarify the presentation of results verbally.
    • Table titles and graphs or image captions are arranged in the form of phrases (not sentences) concisely.
    • The image caption/graph is placed below the image/graph, while the title of the table is placed on it. The title begins with capital letters.
    • Do not repeat the numbers that have been listed in the table in the discussion text. If you will emphasize the results obtained should be presented in other forms, such as percentages or differences. To show the number in question, just refer to the table that contains the number.
    • In general, international journals do not want statistical language (such as: significantly different, treatment, etc.) written in the discussion. Avoid copying and pasting tables of statistical analysis results directly from statistical data processing software.
    • The discussion material mainly explores whether the results obtained are in accordance with the hypothesis or not, and the arguments are presented.
    • Citations in the discussion should not be too long (if necessary avoided).
    • Citations of research results or opinions of others should be abstracted and written in their own sentences (not using exactly the same sentences).
    • Similar research sets can be referred to in groups.
  2. Conclusion
    • Conclusions should be the answer to research questions, and expressed not in statistical sentences.
    • Written throughout one paragraph in essay form, not in numerical form.
  3. Thank you (if needed)
    • Thanks are generally placed after the conclusion.
    • Contains thanks to the funder institution, and or individuals who have helped in the implementation of research and manuscript writing.
  4. Bibliography

General terms of bibliography writing:

  • References included in the bibliography are only references that are actually cited in the manuscript.
  • For research results articles, the bibliography is referenced to at least 5 scientific journal articles. While non-research articles have at least referred to 10 ilrniah articles.
  • The update of the scientific journal referred to should be considered, at least the result of relevant publications in the last 10 years.
  • Bibliography is arranged alphabetically in alphabetical order of author's name.
  • Terms of author name: the name displayed is the author's last name (surname) followed by an abbreviation of the initial name (and middle if any). If the author is more than one person, then the way of writing is the same.
  • The writing of the reference title begins with capital letters only at the beginning of the sentence.
  • Each name writing, year, article title and so on ends with a dot (.) before continuing the next word. Special writing volume (number) journal is marked two-point (:) without space. Examples of writing can be seen in the explanation of each type of decent library.
  • Manuscripts should refer to or quote one or more Community Journal articles.

 

Terms of Referral Writing Based on Type of Referral:

  • If the source of the library in the form of articles in scientific journals is written in the order: the name of the author. title of article. Journal name. volume(number): page (Journal name typed italicly).

Cohen, E.B. 2009. Opening and Closing Ritual in Aikido and Karate and the Dismantling of Violence. Journal of Ritual Studies. 23 (l): 29-44.

 

  • If the library source is a textbook, it is written in the order: the author's name. year. the title of the book. Volume (if any). edition (if any). publisher city: publisher's name (Italicized book title).

Example:

Arikunto, S. 2002. Research Procedures A Practical Approach. Jakarta: Rineka Cipta.

 

  • If the library source in the form of a translation book is written in the order: the name of the original author. Year of translation books. the title of the translation book. Volume (if any). edition (if any). translation. Publisher's city: publisher's name (Book title in italics).

Steel, R.G.D. & Torrie, J.H. 1991. Principles and Procedures of Statistics. A Biometric Approach.

Translation B. Sumantri. Jakarta: PT. Gramedia Main Library.

 

  • If the source of the library in the form of articles in the book of article collection is written following the order: the name of the author of the article. title of article. in: editor's name if any are followed by Ed (if single) or Eds (if more than one) in parentheses. year. the title of the book. Volume (if any). edition (if any). Publisher's city: publisher's name (Italicized book title).

Ancok, D. Validity and reliability of research instruments. In: Singarimbun M and Ephendi (Eds). 1999. Survey Research Methods. Jakarta: LP3ES.

  • If the source of the library in the form of articles in the proceedings is written in the order: the name of the author. year. the title of the seminar script. title of proceedings. place of seminar. maintenance time (Italicized article title).

Example:

Alimi, M.Y. 2011. When Religion Fails to Nature Character Proceedings of the International Conference Ethics in Development. Semarang. July 17 - 19, 2011.

  • If the library source is an unpublished work (e.g., thesis, dissertation and research report), it is written in order: author's name. year. title of research report. name of research project. publishing city: the issuing agency/institution (Thesis/thesis/dissertation/research report is italicized).

  • If the library source is an artlkel in a general newspaper / magazine, it is written in the order: the name of the author. year. title of article. name of newspaper/magazine. city, date of publication and page (Italicized article title)

  • If the library source in the form of online journal articles is written in order: author's name. year. title of article. Journal name. volume(number): page (Journal name italicized).

  • If the source of the library is an online article (internet) without a place to rise and publisher, written according to the rule: the name of the author. year. title of article. Downloaded at the date website address (Italicly printed article title).

Levy, M. 2000. Environmental Scarcity and Violent Conflict: A Debate. Downloaded on http://wwics.si.edu/affil/WWICS/DIS/ECS/report2/debate.htm July 4, 2002.

  • If the source of the library in the form of laws, Government Regulations, Presidential Decrees, is written according to the rules: Name of country. Year. Name of state document number (UU, PP, Kepres). The name of the institution that issued the document. Place.
